Aviation clubs: centres of passion at Amiens – Henry Potez
The Aéroclub Albert Méaulte Maurice Weiss is a convivial association that welcomes anyone with a pilot’s license, and anyone wishing to obtain one. Founded in 1931, this historic club offers a range of activities in addition to flying, from flying lessons to PPL (Private Pilot License) training, and introductory flights for beginners. The club has a fleet of four aircraft, including two Robin DR400s, and about a hundred members.
The advantages of joining the Aéroclub de Picardie
Members of the Aero Club have access to valuable resources such as qualified instructors and well-maintained aircraft. It also has an ALSIM AL250 flight simulator, allowing members to train in complete safety, organizes regular discovery days, and plays an active role in the aviation festival held every year at the end of September. Don’t hesitate to drop in for a discovery flight over the region.

LEARNING TO FLY A MICROLIGHT AND GLIDER
The Club des Coquelicots gliders have no engine. The principle is to use updraughts to stay airborne for as long as possible. On a fine day, you can cover several hundred kilometers using only the forces of nature. It is said that the best pilots begin their aeronautical career by gliding, because gliders require a great deal of piloting finesse.

Vintage aircraft
At our airport, two associations contribute to the duty of remembrance by maintaining precious aircraft in flying condition.
Morane Saulnier 733, Dassault Flamant, Broussard, Grumman Tracker, and Nord 1100, are just some of the aircraft on which teams of volunteers lavish care and attention. These machines, which require many hours of mechanical work and delight the public at air shows, could not go on flying without the expertise and dedication of the members of these associations.
